Switching from Houzz Pro

Switching takes about an hour.
Here's exactly how.

Most of that is setting up your branding. Your active projects import in minutes. Your clients don't re-sign anything — they just get a welcome email with a link to their new portal.

No client re-signing required
Active projects import mid-project
No contract to cancel

Four steps. One hour.

You don't need to wait for a slow month, finish all your projects, or give Houzz Pro notice. You can start the move today.

1
~15 minutes

Create your account and set up your branding

Sign up, upload your logo, set your colors, and choose your portal URL. This is what your clients will see — your name, your brand, not ours.

Tip: Your portal URL is based on your business name and you pick it when you first sign up. Pick something clean — clients will see it in every email and every link.

~15 minutes per active project

Import your active projects

TruFeld's in-flight project import is a 6-step wizard that walks you through bringing over any project that's already signed and underway — without asking your client to re-sign anything.

1
Add or select the client Pick an existing client from your address book or add a new one. TruFeld links the project to their record automatically.
2
Project description and start date Name the project, add a brief description, and set the original start date. This anchors the timeline correctly from day one.
3
Payment terms Enter your milestone structure — names, amounts, and due dates. TruFeld builds the payment schedule your client will see in their portal.
4
Upload your signed estimate or proposal Upload the PDF or Word document your client already signed. TruFeld stores it as the contract record — locked and always on file.
5
Payment history Record any deposits or milestone payments already collected, with their original dates. The project financial history is complete before your client ever logs in.
6
Review and finish Confirm everything looks right and import. TruFeld creates the project, the payment schedule, and the branded client and vendor portals in one step. Done.
No re-signing required: Your original signed document is the record of contract. Your client receives a portal welcome email — not a signature request.

Instant

Send clients their portal access

After import, TruFeld emails your client a welcome message with their portal PIN. They click the link, enter their PIN, and they're in — proposals, payments, files, and messages all in one place.

No new account for them to create. No app to download. Same experience they'll use for every change order and invoice from here forward.

What clients see: Your branding, their project history, and their upcoming payment schedule. Nothing that says TruFeld unless you want it to.
4
When your subscription expires

Let Houzz Pro wind down

You don't need to do anything dramatic. Keep your Houzz Pro account as a read-only archive until your subscription expires naturally. Your historical data stays accessible, nothing disappears overnight.

From this point forward, all new proposals, scope changes, and payments run through TruFeld. Houzz Pro becomes your filing cabinet for what happened before.

Nothing to export: Your active project history is already in TruFeld from the import. There's no data migration to manage.

Already have active projects? That's the normal case.

Most contractors switch while work is underway. That's exactly why TruFeld built the in-flight import. You don't need to wait until every project closes — that could be a year from now.

Import each active project as you have time. Run Houzz Pro and TruFeld in parallel for as long as you need. There's no pressure and no deadline. Houzz Pro's subscription keeps running until you decide to stop it.

No re-signing

Upload your original signed contract. TruFeld stores it as the binding record. Your client never needs to sign again.

Full payment history

Back-date deposits and milestone payments already collected. The project timeline shows everything from day one.

Milestone schedule intact

Import your delivery schedule with projected dates. Turn on schedule tracking and it goes live in their portal right away.

Client welcome email

TruFeld sends your client a welcome with their portal PIN. One email. No friction. They're in their new portal within minutes.

Common questions

Do my clients need to create a TruFeld account?

No. Clients access their portal with a PIN — no account, no password, no app. They get an email with a link and a 5-digit PIN. That's it. The portal works in any browser.

Can I run Houzz Pro and TruFeld at the same time?

Yes. There's no conflict and nothing stopping you. Many contractors import their active projects into TruFeld and let Houzz Pro run out naturally. You're not locked into any timeline.

What happens to my Houzz Pro project history and photos?

Your Houzz Pro data stays in Houzz Pro until you cancel. TruFeld doesn't pull anything from Houzz Pro automatically — you import what you need through the wizard. For historical projects that are already closed, there's no need to import them at all.

Is there a contract or commitment with TruFeld?

No. TruFeld has no contracts, no annual commitments, and no monthly fees. Starter is free forever. Pro and Business are one-time payments — not subscriptions. If you decide TruFeld isn't for you, there's nothing to cancel.

What if I have 10 active projects? Do I have to import them all at once?

No. Import them one at a time, in whatever order makes sense. Start with your most active project or the one with the most upcoming scope changes. The rest can follow whenever you have fifteen minutes.
